The RSP Healthcare Consortium childbirth education group offer person centred Prenatal Classes offer a family-cantered approach for this very special event. Classes are guided by a Lamaze-certified registered nurse.
The classes will prepare you to make your birth experience a satisfying one that you will remember for a lifetime.

Early Pregnancy Classes
Early Pregnancy is a very special time in your life. It can also be filled with lots of emotion for various reasons. Learn how to make the most of your pregnancy, and enjoy life whilst pregnant. Learn about diet, how to stay healthy and fit, and pamper yourself, prepare yourself and take care of your baby. You can join us any time but soon as you are aware that you are pregnant, up to 4 months to benefit fully.

Where and when are the classes?
Classes are held in clients’ home, office, and in local health centre or sports club near you for you convenience. Mostly day time classes only
Dates and times
Dates and times for each of the classes vary. Weekly morning starts at 9.30 am and afternoon sessions starts at 1.30 pm for each of the classes. Other day time classes are available for minimum of 12 members requiring for varied time slot with prior arrangement and at extra cost.
How much does it cost?
6 – 9 sessions at £25 – £35 each plus one free session

Lamaze Class
You can join our varied interactive programme in your second trimester, where you will learn everything about childbirth; when to go to the hospital, the different stages of labour, what comfort measures to use, the characteristics of your newborn, bonding promotion and group visit to your maternity and or birthing centre as you wish.

Breastfeeding Classes
Breastfeeding your baby will ensure your baby has a healthy start in life.
Some women find breastfeeding difficult; we can help achieve your breast feeding goal. You will learn how it all works, how to get started, positions, how you will know the baby gets enough, and how it can work when you go back to work and remain confident.
Our Breast care practitioners have been specially trained in supporting mothers, Lactation and empowering mothers who may have challenges with breastfeeding to breastfeed their infant successfully. You will be visited in hospital or at home as required usually in the morning or afternoon.

Parenting Skills
Sharing experience and anxieties and getting useful hints on managing issues raised. With video, discussion and parenting stations you will discover your parenting preferences and learn about child care, safety, promoting self-esteem, discipline and developmental stimulation and confidence in your chosen style.
Sibling Introduction
We welcome parents and children into our classes of ‘introducing children expecting their first brother or sister’, this class provides includes sharing experience and working through anxieties as well watching video on becoming a big brother or sister, and helpful hints to parents. Children who participate will receive a certificate for attending the class.
Infant CPR
British Heart Foundation guidelines for infant CPR and choking instruction are provided by a certified instructor with optional practice on infant mannequins.

You are advised to keep to your routine gentle pre pregnancy exercise and not start any new form of exercise without specialist advice.
Once a week you can exercise in a safe and effective way to stay fit during your pregnancy. Muscle toning, strengthening and aerobic type exercises will increase your endurance, reduce backache, improve circulation and improve your fitness.
Who should attend Prenatal/Lamaze Classes?
Mothers-to-be.
Where and when are the classes?
All classes are held in the am and pm weekdays, or pm weekends in a sport centre near you. Details are available on booking. Booked classes may vary each month.
How much does it cost?
Weekly – 30 minutes at £40.00 per month
How do I register?

Nutrition Counselling and Support
Medical Nutrition Therapy includes nutritional diagnostic therapy and counselling services provided by a Registered Dietitian for the purpose of managing an acute or chronic condition or disease. You may also see a specialist nurse adviser for ongoing advice and support as preferred.
Following valid and reliable nutrition screening, assessment and intervention has the potential to significantly reduce morbidity and mortality risks such as preventing risks infections, complications, and prolonged hospital admission.
A physician referral is required for Registered Dietitians to provide the typical service which includes an initial assessment and intervention followed by multiple reassessment and intervention sessions.
RSP will provide clients with education services such as:

Ladies and Gents Evening sessions
This is a trusted source of health information for the busy men and women in UK, and the surrounding area. Each year, Ladies and Gents Evening session provides an evening of health information on general health and wellbeing, genital conditions, addiction, domestic violence and health after major illness, pregnancy and Childbirth, sexual Health screenings, cosmetic health beauty and cosmetic surgery. As well as keep fit programmes. The topics and format of the evening has evolved over time but the overall theme, “Helping you to lead Healthy Younger, Happier Lives”, has remained the same.
At RSP, we hold regular question and answer health topic presentation sessions weekly near you for those concerns you wish to learn about. Some people really look forward to the presentation of the latest health information from members of RSP Healthcare Consortium Staff. Family group also attend session of interest.
In order for health topics to be covered in more detail and to give women an opportunity to ask questions, clinicians present information in confidence and suitable setting of your choice. Some past topics include Breast Care, Cancer Diagnosis & Treatment, Sexual Health issues, Relationship matters, Genetic Counselling, Surgical Treatment of Morbid Obesity, Stress Management Techniques for Busy people, Women’s health, and Information and Advice on Managing Menopause etc.

Office and home visit are available for various tests, counselling and follow up for those with screening results that requires further action. “We think it is important for women to follow up on any abnormal results indicated by screenings staff – Public Relations Coordinator. “This event occurs yearly in the fall.”
