Sexual Health Clinic
The Sexual Health Clinic offers a comprehensive range of diagnostic and therapeutic services for people with genito urinary complaints, sexually transmitted infections (STIs),previously known as sexually transmitted disease (STD) and AIDS related illness.
We provide stress free and confidential STD/STIs / HIV Test:
Service This is a helpful first point of contact if you have concerns about your sexuality, have been sexually assaulted or you want to discuss safer sex, condom use or want advice or information.
If you think you may have come in contact with an infection, you will see our Health Advisor to discuss any implications this may have for you and your partner or future relationship. Your clinician will also explain and clarify what the infection is and answer any questions you might have.
You will also be given:
Diagnosis / Testing
Treatments are normally given as clinically indicated on same day unless, further test is required.
Results
Vaccinations
You may wish to be vaccinated or be advised to get vaccinated after your consultation with our clinician or health adviser. You are therefore advised to bring any previous record of vaccinations with you to your appointment if possible. We advise you to maintain a new record of vaccinations. Our patient can ask for any of the vaccinations listed below and as appropriate.
MMR + Travel Vaccinations + TB + Malaria + Hepatitis + HPV + *HIV
Other Tests
Some patients may have symptoms that requires further investigation. Many patients with one STI symptoms may also have other infection or disease. You can find out by getting tested at our clinic privately and confidentially obtain your correct diagnosis and treatment immediately.
MRI scans + Ultrasounds + ECG + Cervical Smear + PSA + Breast Check + Urine Test
General Advice
Herpes sufferers are normally given antiviral medication for their sores. They are often advised to take pain relievers, to keep the area dry and wear loose clothing for comfort. Treatment and further information is provided in our clinic. You must avoid making contacts such as in – kissing, sex, exchange of body fluids etc., to prevent infecting others.
Inform medical staff if giving blood.

Diagnosis / Testing
- Your clinician will normally visually examine you, take a sample of any sore, unusual body fluids or discharge and if required, a simple of blood test is taken and can all be used to diagnose Herpes, HIV, Syphilis etc. If you suspect you have STD/STIs, avoid unsafe sex and book to attend sexual health clinic for advice and treatment. Remember to use condoms always.
- If you and or your partner has been diagnosed with an infection, you will see the Health Adviser to discuss any implications this may have for you or your partners. Your clinician will explain and clarify what the infection is and answer any questions you might have.

Results
- We will tell you when to expect your test results. You choose how you want to be informed either in person, by phone, email or by text message. If your test shows that you need to return to us, we advice you to book immediately within the time given and to inform your partner if required.
- Generally, patients are requested to return to discuss their results and if any new problems. To check they have followed medical and well being advise given previously, social issues, partner/s notification requests if help required, further tests or results and if any or additional treatment and or vaccinations is indicated. You would have been advised about this at your initial visit.
